What do you need to bring to your appointment?

Please remember to bring to your appointment:

  • Your Medicare, DVA, Seniors or Concession Card
  • List of any medications or allergies or recent test results
  • New patients – Arrive 10 minutes early to fill in a new patient and medical history form

This information allows our staff to better assess your medical needs and provide you with the most appropriate medical advice and treatment.

The patient registration form provides us with your basic details and gives permission for HotDoc to contact you for permission to use and hold your personal information.

North Geelong Medical Clinic and HotDoc collects, uses, discloses and stores your personal information in accordance to the National Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988.

Appointment length

How long will you need for your doctor’s appointment?

Below is a guide to help you determine what appointment length you need to book with your doctor:

Medical Issues Appointment Length to Book
One medical issue to discuss Short or Standard Appointment (< 15 minutes)
Two medical issues to discuss Long Appointment (30 minutes)

If you are unsure about which appointment length you should book, please contact our friendly reception staff for advice.
For example, longer appointments are required for health assessments (including VicRoads or workplace medicals) and mental health treatment plans.

Billing Conditions & Fees

North Geelong Medical Clinic is a mixed billing practice

Fee eligibility

To be eligible for the following fees, you must have a valid Medicare Card and meet one of the following criteria:

a) Child less than 5 years of age
b) Child less than 16 years of age with a Health Care Card or Pension Card
c) DVA Gold Card holders
d) Chronic Disease Management Plans, Health Assessments, Home Medication Reviews, Childhood Immunisations
Bulk Billed
e) Health Care Card or Pension Card holders 16 years of age and over Concession fee – See fees & rebates below
f) Aged 5 years and over without a Health Care Card or Pension Card Full fee – See fees & rebates below
g) Telephone | Telehealth consult Full fee – Same as for in-person consultations
h) Cancellation within 2 hours of consultation or non-attendance $50-$100

Overseas visitors/students – Are charged fees according to their level of consultation – Please see below for fee details.

TAC/WorkCover – You will be required to pay fees until an account is established – Please see reception.

Fees & Medicare Rebates – From 1st December 2024

These fee changes are made to address rising costs in providing high-quality healthcare. Unfortunately the Medicare rebate is not keeping up with these costs, leading to an increase in out-of-pocket fees for our patients.

Standard consultation fees

Please note – Fees are based on time spent with the GP during the consultation, not length of appointment booking.

The following fees apply to patients who do not qualify for Concession rate or Bulk Billing:

Bulk Billed Consultations – The following types of consultations will be billed for all patients::

  • Chronic Disease Management Plans
  • Health Assessments
  • Home Medication Reviews
  • Childhood Immunisations

Procedure and dressing fees – Please discuss with reception regarding relevant charges.

Medicare Card Holders – If you have nominated your bank account details with Medicare, we can submit your claim at the time of payment. Medicare will deposit the rebate into your account, usually within two business days.

Private patients | overseas visitors/students – Are charged fees according to their level of consultation. Please ask our friendly reception staff for details and fees.

Out of pocket expenses

You can conveniently pay your account at the end of your appointment by:
