Dr Myo Myint Tun
Dr Myo graduated in 2007 from University of Medicine in Myanmar (Burma). After spending a few years working as a hospital medical officer in Burma, he moved to Australia in 2013 and finished his residency at Latrobe Regional Hospital. Here he gained various experiences such as acute medicine, mental health, general surgery, ENT and Urology.
He spent time at Geelong University Hospital to gather more experience in emergency and geriatric medicine before moving to South Australia to pursue General Practice as a specialty training through AGPT. He obtained a fellowship of RACGP in 2019. After spending six years in rural South Australia, he returned to Victoria.
Dr Myo’s special interests include:
- Geriatric Medicine
- General Medicine
- Management of chronic medical conditions
- Evaluation of undifferentiated presentations in General Practice
Dr Fariba Barazandeh
Dr Fariba graduated from medical school in 2005 from Shiraz University of Medical Sciences. After graduation, she worked as a GP and VMO in several medical clinics and hospitals in Iran for more than 10 years.
After migrating to Australia in 2017 and receiving her Australian medical registration, she:
- Worked as a GP in Tamworth for more than 5 years
- Gained the Fellowship of Royal Australian College of General Practitioners – 2020
- Undertaken further training in skin cancer medicine with Skin Cancer College of Australasia and HealthCert institute.
She is currently undertaking further training in dermatology and skin cancer with Australasian College of Dermatologists.
Dr Fariba enjoys all aspects of general practice and working with diverse group of patients and has special interests in Chronic Disease Management, Women’s Health, Geriatric Health, Skin cancer and other skin conditions.
Dr Fariba believes in the important role of primary care in the community and works with her patients to achieve their optimal health.
Dr Mia West
Dr Mia was raised in rural Victoria and completed her medical degree in Geelong. She believes it is important to get to know her patients over time, helping people to truly understand their health care and maximise lifelong function.
As a specialist General Practitioner, she enjoys all aspects of general practice but has a particular interest in Children’s Health (Paediatrics) having taken additional studies in this area.
Dr Mia has a special interest in the following areas:
- Children’s health
- Chronic disease management (such as diabetes and weight issues)
- Nutrition
- Men’s health
- Women’s health
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health
Dr Mia provides a welcoming environment for her patients to achieve their highest level of health.
Dr Courtney Gardner
Dr Courtney’s winding path to becoming a GP has included study and work in public health, international development, and chronic disease management.
She studied medicine at Deakin University and remained in Geelong afterward, gaining valuable experience in medicine with a focus on addressing the health needs of the northern suburbs.
Dr Courtney has sought out opportunities to learn more about the following areas:
- Child and adolescent health
- Refugee health
- Asylum seeker health
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health
- Sexual health including STI screening & management
- Trans health
Dr Courtney aims to provide a welcoming, inclusive space for people from all ages and walks of life to improve their health and well-being.
